Punjab to Launch Electronic Deed Registration System

The Board of Revenue (BoR) committee room saw the Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBoR) Punjab, Nabeel Javed, preside over a meeting on Thursday. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of e-registration, popularly known as the Electronic Deed Registration System.

Training for E-registration to Begin in Lahore

The meeting saw authorities announce that the officers' e-registration training would begin on 28th April in Lahore and continue until 15th May at all divisional headquarters in Punjab. It was also announced that the seminar would be attended by all relevant officers from the districts. Furthermore, it was stated that the e-registration and transfer of property deeds would begin in Sahiwal on 1st May.

Benefits of E-registration System

During the meeting, SMBoR Nabeel Javed stated that e-registration would provide various benefits to people. They would be able to apply for property registration from the comfort of their homes via an e-registration gateway and acquire an online copy of their record.

The openness of the system would minimize the need for residents to visit several offices. If residents wished to purchase or sell property through e-registration, they must appear in front of a sub-registrar of the corresponding district or tehsil to record their remarks.

Furthermore, the IT system would monitor individuals that obstruct citizens. BoR officers, commissioners, and deputy commissioners (DCs) would be able to monitor sub-registrars on a daily basis via the e-registration site, ensuring transparency.

Simplification of Property Registration Procedure

The implementation of e-registration would improve the property registration procedure, offering residents simplicity and comfort. They would no longer have to endure the hassle of visiting several offices and could perform the necessary tasks from the comfort of their homes.

The electronic system would also minimize the chances of errors in the process, as everything would be computerized, reducing the need for manual input.

The implementation of the Electronic Deed Registration System in Punjab is a significant step toward making property registration more accessible and efficient for residents. The e-registration system would provide various benefits, including minimizing the need for residents to visit several offices, providing the convenience of online applications, and ensuring transparency in the process.
