Punjab Private Doctors are allowed for driving licence medical certificateDr. Mumtaz Sial, Executive Director (CEO) of Toba Tek Singh District Health Agency, has approved private physicians to issue medical fitness certificates to local permit applicants. This development took place on Tuesday.
Reports indicate that under the previous agreement, which entered into force on March 28, 2018, only a few physicians from a state-owned medical company were allowed to issue medical fitness certificates for this purpose.

For this reason, Toba Tek Singh, director general of the District Health Authority, said that the Secretary General of the Chapter for Youth for Human Rights, Pakistan Gojra, Wajid Ali, has complained to the Prime Minister's Civil Complaints Portal and requested that the previous order be revoked.
A circular stated that the application had been submitted by the Executive Director in accordance with the legal procedures described in sections 2 and 7 of the 1965 Motor Vehicle Regulation, under which any registered physician may issue a medical fitness certificate to a license applicant.
After this application, the circular states that the previous provisions on the issue of fitness certificates have been withdrawn.
This development is of great benefit to the public, as they do not have to wait in line for hours to obtain their medical fitness certificates. Not only that, it also fires some of the selected doctors who were allowed to issue medical certificates under the previous rule.
