Punjab Government bins the Actress Meera 40 millon aid request

Lollywood famous actress Meera recently applied for funding from the Artist Support Fund, which was established by the Punjab Department of Information and Culture. The actress had applied for Rs 40 million and claimed that her finances were under severe pressure.

A meeting took place in the Alhamrah Arts Council under the supervision of MPA Sadia Sohail Rana after the actor wrote a letter to senior officials. At this meeting, the department unanimously decided that it would give the actor no more than ten thousand rupees.

The meeting also emphasized that the artist must have a monthly income of less than Rs 15,000 and over 50 years of age to be eligible for support from the fund.This fund is for the poor performers hard hit by the current situation.

The MPA also voiced confusion about Meera’s demands. ‘I’m surprised why Meera asked for help when she had to support other poor artists in this situation. Meera must understand that not everything is a joke. Artists of their size should put money aside in difficult times when they make large amounts of money, ”he said.

Meanwhile, Meera claimed she had no choice. “My shows in the US and Canada were canceled due to Covid-19. I suffered a loss of approximately $100,000. I have to repay the loan I took out in Dubai. However, I earned 15,000 rupees per show, but without shows. I have to apply for financial aid, ”she said.

The actress has claimed not to know that her request will be rejected. It plans to discuss the matter with the federal government.
