Prime Minister Imran Khan said the Allama Iqbal Industrial City, Faisalabad Industrial Park Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) to be established in Faisalabad under the CPEC should be completed as soon as possible.
He informed FIEDMC Chairman Mian Kashif Ashfaq about ongoing development work in economic zones.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development work and said that all resources should be used to complete this project under the CPEC. He praised the fact that 32 Chinese companies have already invested in this economic zone and that investors from other countries, including China, are also reaching out to invest in it.
He said export-oriented industries should be located in Allama Iqbal Industrial City and companies should be encouraged to develop alternatives to imported goods. The Prime Minister said that this project is very important to Pakistan's development and prosperity and that no obstacles in its path will be tolerated.
The FIEDMC chairman informed him that the works are taking place day and night in the industrial city of Allama Iqbal and that the first phase will be completed in September. The companies that invest here can then manufacture their products by setting up their own production units.
