Pakistan to celebrate defence day with martyrs tribute

The day of defense and martyrs is tomorrow [6. September] in the country to pay tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis and reaffirm their commitment to defend the Motherland against all threats.

That day in 1965, Indian troops crossed the international border at night in the dark to attack Pakistan, but the nation thwarted the enemy’s disgraceful plans.

After Fajr, special prayers are offered in mosques for the country’s progress and prosperity and the independence of occupied Kashmir from the cruel clutches of India. Fateha and the Quran Khawani are also considered the martyrs.

The day starts with 31 cannon fires in the federal capital and 21 cannon fires in the provincial capitals.

At an inauguration ceremony in Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Dr. Arif Alvi presents military awards to officers and soldiers of the armed forces for their meritorious service to the nation.

Activities for the day also include visits to the martyr families and monuments erected in their memory.

Pakistani media plans to broadcasts special programs featuring folk songs, interviews with relatives to martyrs and ghazis to pay tribute to the defenders of the motherland.

ISPR released a new video song to pay tribute the martyrs, which are the actual heroes of the nation.
