Pakistan Govt to Open the tourist points, marriage halls and recreation areas

Pakistan Govt to Open the tourist points, marriage halls and recreation areas, federal government has consulted with provinces to reopen the tourism industry, wedding halls and recreation areas, Industry and Manufacturing Minister Hammad Azhar said Tuesday.

The government had previously drawn up a negative list of companies that were not allowed to operate for fear of the spread of the coronavirus.

Hammad Azhar said in a tweet that the federal government had consulted with counties on "Assessment and possible review of sectors on the negative list."

Start consultation in NCOC (National Command Operation Center) with provinces to review and revise sectors (subject to SOPs) on the open negative list. This includes tourism, restaurants, wedding halls, parks, etc., ”he said.

The minister announced that the government is also considering the times of markets and industries. He added that once the provinces had completed their recommendations, they would be sent to Prime Minister Imran Khan for a final decision.

Earlier in the day, owners of wedding halls, lawns and tents called on the government to resume operations, as industry and its affiliated sectors suffered significant losses.

"In the season when the company peaks, each seller who is a member of the [wedding hall] industry earns Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 a day," said a marketer.

He called on the government to "understand that the wedding industry, like the construction industry, functions as an engine and engine for several other Allied industries."

Sectors such as clothing, cosmetics and animal husbandry are linked, he said.
