Pakistan Rejects Gaza Resettlement Proposal
Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has strongly condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to permanently displace Palestinians from Gaza and resettle them in neighboring countries. “troubling and unjust,” Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination.
In a strongly worded statement, the FO emphasized that Palestinian land belongs to the Palestinian people and that any forced displacement violates international law and UN resolutions.
Pakistan reiterated its stance that the only just and viable solution is the establishment of a sovereign, independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
The FO’s statement came after Trump, during a White House meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, called Gaza a “demolition site”.
“We Live or Die Here” – Gazans Reject Trump’s Plan
Many see the plan as an attempt to erase Palestinian identity and weaken the struggle for independence.
Pakistan condemned Israel’s illegal settlements and military occupation, calling for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Palestinian territories. The FO also emphasized the need for:
- Unhindered humanitarian aid to Gaza
- The return of all displaced Palestinians to their homes
- International efforts for Gaza’s swift reconstruction
Pakistan reaffirmed that it will continue to stand with Palestine in its rightful struggle for self-determination.
