The National Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution on Monday calling on the government to make Urdu language teaching in the Holy Quran compulsory at all universities and higher education institutions affiliated with the federal government.
The resolution states that, according to the constitution, Pakistan is officially a state in the Islamic Republic and that the Holy Quran and Sunnah should be considered the supreme law. "It is therefore necessary to take reasonable precautions to understand the Holy Quran in universities," the resolution said.

Parliamentary Prime Minister Ali Muhammad Khan presented the resolution on behalf of Parliament, saying that students would learn to understand the Holy Quran with translation.
In addition, a decision was taken unanimously. The House has given Kashmiri's full political and state support and condemned the violence by Indian forces in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ & K) against Kashmiris. The resolution was adopted before the Kashmir martyrs.
Minister Ali Muhammad Khan pushed the decision on behalf of the House.
