Fortifying educational partnerships between Pakistan and China, Secretary of Education Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani held a strategic meeting with a high-level Chinese delegation on Monday at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.
The Chinese team, led by Wang Dang, Chairman of CIIC Technology Group Co. Ltd., aimed to deepen cooperative educational initiatives that will accelerate national development goals and empower Pakistani youth.
Also in attendance were the General Manager of CIIC International Education Technology Co. Ltd., Joint Secretary Education Mr. Sohail Akhtar, and Executive Director of NAVTTC Mr. Muhammad Aamir Jan.
Addressing Pakistan’s Educational Crisis with Strategic Solutions
During the meeting, Secretary Wani expressed sincere gratitude to Mr. Wang Dang, acknowledging him as a steadfast friend of Pakistan and a driving force behind sustained collaboration.
He reiterated that the Ministry has declared an “educational emergency” and is harnessing every available resource to combat the crisis. Among the primary focus areas are:
- Expanding access to education in underserved regions
- Upgrading school infrastructure, especially in flood-prone areas
- Enhancing teacher training programs through international partnerships
- Combating malnutrition via a nationwide School Meals Program
These initiatives are being executed through inter-ministerial collaboration, with robust oversight by a dedicated education reform task force established under the directives of the Prime Minister.

Highlighting CIIC’s forward-thinking approach, Chairman Wang Dang conveyed his organization’s strong commitment to establishing technical and vocational training centers throughout Pakistan.
“Our objective is to empower Pakistani youth to become skilled professionals who can seamlessly integrate into the workforce, especially in industries led by Chinese investments,” Mr. Wang emphasized.
These vocational centers will focus on:
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Renewable Energy Technology
- Agricultural Engineering
- Construction and Civil Works
- Hospitality and Tourism Management

The Ministry’s approach to educational transformation is multifaceted and data-driven. Secretary Wani highlighted several ongoing initiatives that aim to revolutionize Pakistan’s education sector, such as:
- Disaster-Resilient Infrastructure: Integrating disaster management frameworks in school construction to withstand climate-related calamities.
- School Meals Program: Combatting Pakistan and China child malnutrition and stunting, enhancing students’ cognitive development and attendance rates.
