The Ministry of Religious Affairs has recently introduced stringent measures for individuals opting for high-cost Hajj packages under the Private Hajj 2025 scheme, as reported by ARY News.
These agencies will review criminal records, past affiliations, and other relevant personal information to ensure that pilgrims do not pose any potential threat.
Strict Security Clearance Process for Expensive Hajj Packages
Under the updated guidelines, pilgrims selecting packages that exceed Rs3 million will now have their Hajj process tightly linked to security clearance. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will be tasked with evaluating the tax records and asset profiles of these individuals.
By reviewing financial information, the FBR ensures that pilgrims opting for such premium packages are genuinely capable of affording the costs. This measure also seeks to prevent financial irregularities and undue misuse of funds during the Hajj process.
Only after obtaining clearance from both tax and security authorities will pilgrims be allowed to proceed with their pilgrimage.
Companies offering luxury Hajj packages must adhere strictly to the new regulations. They are required to submit comprehensive details about the packages they offer to the Ministry of Religious Affairs for approval and review.
Mohammad Hakeem Khattak - Focal Person for Implementation
To ensure effective coordination, Mohammad Hakeem Khattak has been appointed as the focal person responsible for overseeing the implementation of these regulations.
His role will involve monitoring compliance, facilitating communication between authorities, and streamlining the process for those applying under the new guidelines.
These new measures are designed to enhance transparency and boost security for individuals opting for luxurious Hajj packages. One of the key objectives of these regulations is to protect pilgrims from potential exploitation by companies offering exorbitantly priced Hajj packages.
By introducing rigorous checks, the Ministry of Religious Affairs aims to curb exploitation, ensure accountability, and guarantee that only eligible individuals participate in the pilgrimage.
By requiring detailed documentation and government oversight, the government fosters healthy competition among service providers, encouraging honest and transparent transactions.
