Ministry of IT’s Vision Aligned with Google’s Programs

Federal Minister for Information Technology & Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque has expressed his enthusiasm for Google's skill development programs in emerging technologies and soft skills.

Speaking as the Chief Guest at the Google Career Certificates 2.0 Launch ceremony organized by Google Asia Pacific, Minister Haque emphasized the need for young people to continually update their skills in the fast-paced digital world.

Unleashing Pakistan's Potential

With two-thirds of Pakistan's population under the age of 30, the country possesses a vast pool of talented young individuals. Minister Haque acknowledged this demographic advantage and underscored the significance of channeling their talents in the right direction.

He commended the efforts of the Google Asia Pakistan team in launching the new version of the Career Certificates Program for Pakistan, which he believes will unlock tremendous growth and development opportunities.

Google Career Certificates: Catering to the Digital Landscape

The Google Career Certificates Program focuses on six in-demand areas related to digital skills, including IT support, project management, data analysis, UX design, IT automation, and digital marketing and e-commerce. These fields are crucial in today's digital age, offering ample career prospects and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Moreover, Google has recently announced the addition of three highly demanded courses for 2023: business intelligence, advanced data analytics, and cybersecurity. By introducing these courses, Google aims to ensure that Pakistani professionals are equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in the evolving job market.

Inclusivity and Access to Skill Development

Minister Haque highlighted the remarkable inclusivity of the Google Career Certificate Scholarships. Irrespective of one's academic background or prior experience in a particular field, individuals can enroll in these skill development courses. This opens up a world of possibilities for those who wish to venture into new domains or enhance their existing skills.

Collaborative Efforts and Scholarships

In 2022, Google collaborated with partners IRM and Ignite to award 15,000 scholarships to Pakistani individuals. Building on this success, Minister Haque announced that this year, Google, in collaboration with partners IRM and Tech Valley, will grant a total of 44,500 scholarships to Pakistanis.

This remarkable initiative demonstrates the commitment of Google and its partners to empowering the youth of Pakistan through access to quality education and skill development.

Minister Haque extended his wholehearted support to the Google team for their commendable efforts in launching these initiatives. He emphasized the importance of leveraging the latest technologies to empower the Pakistani youth and applauded Google's commitment to skill development.

The Google Career Certificates 2.0 Launch marks an important milestone in Pakistan's journey toward digital transformation. By providing access to relevant and in-demand skills, these programs equip young individuals with the tools necessary to succeed in the digital era. As Pakistan's youth embraces these opportunities, the country's job economy is poised for significant growth, fostering innovation and prosperity.
