In this article we will learn how to apply or renew your driving license, you can now do so online. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:
- Visit the official website of the Driving License Issuance and Management System (DLIMS) Punjab, which is the department responsible for issuing and renewal of driving licenses in the province of Punjab.
- Click on the "New User? Sign Up" button if you are a new user, or log in with your existing username and password.
- Fill in your personal information, including your name, address, and CNIC number.
- Upload a scanned copy of your CNIC and a recent passport-size photograph.
- Select the type of license you want to apply for, such as a car or motorcycle license.
- Choose the licensing authority you want to apply to, based on your location.
- Pay the application fee online using a credit or debit card.
- Once your application is processed, you will receive a message from the licensing authority informing you of the date and time of your driving test.
- On the day of your test, you will need to bring your original CNIC, your existing driving license (if you are renewing), and a copy of your online application form.
- After passing the driving test, your new driving license will be issued and delivered to your address.

The following documents are necessary for the license renewal process in Pakistan.

Renewing your driving license online follows a similar process, except that you will need to provide your existing driving license number and upload a scanned copy of it instead of taking the driving test. Keep in mind that there are some restrictions on who is eligible to apply for or renew their driving license online.
How to Apply for duplicate license
To apply for a duplicate license, you will need to provide the following documents:
- A completed duplicate application form, which should be filed within a file cover.
- An attested copy of your C.N.I.C.
- Two attested fresh photographs in passport size.
- A report from the computer section that expresses the expiry date of your license.
- An FIR (lost license report) from the police station.

The online driving licence renewal facility was started back in 2019, by the govt of Pakistan, before this facility people's were advised to visit physically the driving licence renewal offices in their respective areas.
Driving licences are issued by the provincial governments of Pakistan but these driving licences can be used across the country.
But when you have to renew your driving licence, it can only be renewed in the respective province.For example if your driving licence is issued by the govt of Sindh.
You can only renew your driving licence from the Sindh province, no other province will provide this renewal facility.
