KPK to resume inter bus and safari train services to promote tourism

The provincial government of KPK has decided to resume bus services for tourists visiting the gated urban areas of Peshawar.

The bus service has been cut off due to Covid-19. However, following the drop in coronavirus cases, the government announced on Sunday that it would reopen the tourist transportation facility.

The starting point for the bus connection is the Peshawar Museum and ends in the Ghor Ghatri area of the gated city. Tourists were able to visit the Heritage Trail, Ghanta Ghar, Sethi House, and Sethiyan Mullaha in the area while continuing to Namak Mandi and Sarafa Bazaar.

Meanwhile, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan approved the resumption of historic Safri train services in the province on Sunday.

K-P's tourism department said the provincial government had also contacted the railway department to resume safari trains.

Train service would start on the Attock Khurd route and from Peshawar to Takhtbhai.

Visitors would be entertained upon arrival at Attock Khurd with the organization of football and volleyball matches, dragon matches and archery matches. Upon arrival in Takhtbahi Tehsil, Mardan district, they were taken to archaeological sites.

The famous Khyber Steam Safari Train, which followed a winding train known as the "Iron Horse" in the midst of the rugged Tatara Mountains of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, has resumed, but not on the route he had hoped for.

The world famous train closed in 2007 due to a deteriorating security situation and resumed its journey earlier this week, but from Peshawar to Attock Khurd and to Landi Kotal, taking travelers across the Khyber Pass.
