New CEO Mr.Imran Maniar has taken over the management of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL). It is the first time in the past five years that a permanent director has been appointed at SSGC.
According to the spokesman for the SSGC, the appointment has been approved by the board. Maniar is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience building, managing and advising private equity and companies on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, turnarounds, capital market transactions, logistics, upstream and midstream operations, oilfields and engineering services.

He has successfully managed startups and Fortune 500 companies in North and Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining SSGC, Maniar was CFO of Marquard and Bahls AG, GL Noble Denton and Eagle Ford Oil and Gas. He was also Manager Strategic Planning at Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, Partner at Millennium Ventures LLC and Analyst at Solvay.
Imran Maniar has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, an MBA from Rice University and a CFO from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
At this point it should be noted that the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has authorized the Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP) to conduct inspections of industrial and commercial gas meters after consumers filed a record number of complaints about the overconsumption of gas by SSGC delivery charges.
According to the data reported in this case, OGRA consulted HDIP to follow up consumer complaints and verify whether there was indeed an anomaly in gas consumption and in the bill calculation.
