Govt to enroll one lakh youth under Kamyab Jawan Program

The government has intensified its efforts to enroll 100,000 young people in high-tech and traditional professions as part of the Prime Minister's Kamyab Jawan (Skill For All) project.

The initiative aims to increase the number of skilled workers in Pakistan by offering six months of traditional courses to 50,000 young people and training another 50,000 in advanced technology.

Speech to APP, the Executive Director of the National Commission for Vocational and Technical Education (NAVTTC), Dr. Nasir Khan: "Everything is ready for the resumption of the registration process in the first phase of 'Hunarmand Pakistan'."

Highlighting the institution's future efforts in relation to the Kamyab Jawan program, he said: “The first phase, which started earlier this year, aimed to train 50,000 young people from underdeveloped areas for six months in traditional professions such as Welding, Plumbing, Custom Work, Cooking, Electricity and more. "

At this stage, NAVTTC has so far enrolled 20,000 people who have already completed a one-month course.Khan said enrollment for the second phase will begin after September 15 to enroll 30,000 young people from underdeveloped areas.

Upon request, the CEO said that about 280 institutions in the less developed areas were active to provide training in such professions.

Likewise, the government has set itself the goal of educating 50,000 young people in high-tech professions such as artificial intelligence, robotics and cloud computing.

To date, 17,000 people have registered for such courses.“We are committed to training 50,000 of the high-tech and traditional industries under 'Hunarmand Pakistan' by the end of fiscal policy 2020-21,” he concluded.

He said young people from less developed areas also have the opportunity to take high-tech courses at modern institutions in large cities. These students will also be offered accommodation and meals, he added.
