E-passport facility starts in Pakistan

-

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan unveiled the country's e-passport on Wednesday, saying it will make it easier for citizens, especially those living abroad.

Speaking at the launch ceremony in Islamabad, Khan said the e-passport includes various forms of security checks, adding that extending its benefits to Pakistanis abroad in this way will ultimately benefit the country.

The Prime Minister said Pakistanis abroad are a valuable asset and Pakistan has recently received record remittances from them. Using technology will make things easier for people while helping to monitor and control corruption, Khan said.
