Pakistanis planning to perform Umrah in the upcoming month can now avail themselves of discounted tickets. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a significant fare reduction for the lesser pilgrimage until July 15.
A PIA spokesperson revealed that Umrah pilgrims traveling to Madina from Pakistan will benefit from the new, lower fares. According to the updated prices, a two-way ticket from Lahore or Islamabad to Madina will now cost Rs86,000. For those traveling from Karachi, the fare is Rs76,000. These rates are exclusive of taxes.
Previously, the cost of an Umrah ticket was Rs120,000. The reduction in fares provides substantial savings for pilgrims. The discounted fares have been applied immediately and will remain effective until July 15, providing ample time for travelers to plan their pilgrimage.
Umrah is a significant religious journey undertaken year-round at the Grand Mosque of Makkah. The new Umrah season commenced earlier this month, shortly after 1.8 million Muslims worldwide participated in the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
Saudi Arabia aims to increase the number of Muslims performing Umrah annually to 30 million. This goal is part of a broader strategy to enhance religious tourism and accommodate the growing number of pilgrims each year.
The reduction in Umrah fares by PIA is a welcoming gesture for Pakistani pilgrims. The discounted rates, valid until July 15, offer an excellent opportunity for more people to undertake this spiritual journey
