20 Sikh pilgrims died after the Shah Hussain Express collided with a roller coaster in Sheikhupura on Friday.
According to reports in the local media, the accident happened at an unmanned intersection near Sheikhupura. Most of the roller coaster passengers were Sikh Yatrees returning from Nankana Sahib. Rescuers have arrived at the scene of the accident and are recovering both bodies and injuries.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed sadness at the lost lives and ordered the victims of the accident to receive the best possible medical treatment.

Deeply saddened at the accident this afternoon at a railway crossing near Sheikhupura which resulted in the death of atleast 20 people, mainly Sikh pilgrims returning from Nankana Sahib. Have directed that proper medical care be provided to the injured.

The bodies were taken to a local hospital and the rescue operation was completed. The injured received first aid from the local population at the time of the accident. The railway authorities cleared the runway and resumed train activities.
