Amazon to build their office for AWS services in Pakistan

Amazon is teaming up for Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Pakistan to drive adoption of cloud computing. The move comes two weeks after a global disruption to the tech company that largely affected parts of the United States and Pakistan as a whole.

In last month Amazon web services was affected in Pakistan,and it was supposed the PTA has banned the AWS in Pakistan,later PTA cleared his portion there is no any kind of restriction on the Amazon web services in Pakistan.

According to the SECP database, the Pakistani office is headed by Paul Andrew Macpherson as CEO, while Shoaib Munir is co-CEO of Macpherson.

An Amazon spokesperson speaking on the basis of anonymous terms said the technology leader is currently looking for a government policy specialist in Pakistan who will focus on promoting the adoption of AWS cloud computing solutions.

The role focuses on removing legislative and political blockages when the cloud is adopted.This is a common approach used by technology companies when entering small markets.

Bytedance did the same in June by hiring Hassan Arshad as head of public order to work with the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) to avoid a ban on the TikTok app.

With regard to AWS in Pakistan, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) "Financial Institutions Framework for IT Governance and Risk Management" has instructed banks to implement cloud computing technology, provided that systems and service providers interact with all physical servers and services of Pakistan.

According to Pakistan's e-commerce policy, Information Technology and Telecommunications Division is formulating Pakistan's first cloud policy, while draft data protection legislation is at an advanced stage of consultation.

The latest draft, which also covers Amazon, addresses data protection issues in the field of e-commerce.

AWS hopes to work with the relevant Pakistani authorities to develop and revise guidelines for the digital economy, including cloud-first guidelines, confidentiality rules, outsourcing guidelines, cyber security guidelines, tax guidelines and higher policies.

And also proactively build relationships with key policymakers, politicians and influencers.
